Privacy Policy

1) Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Simple Photo Gallery (the "Service") collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information about you when you create an account, upload photos and videos, and otherwise use the Service. Please read it carefully. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2) Information We Collect

We collect information that you provide directly to us and information that is collected automatically when you use the Service.

• Account Information: name, email address, password, profile details, and settings you choose (e.g., public, unlisted or private gallery preferences).
• User Content: photos, videos, captions, metadata (including filenames, capture dates, camera details and GPS location where present), saved AI analysis, and any other content you upload.
• Transaction Information: subscription plan, billing status, and limited payment details (we use a third‑party payment processor that handles full payment information).
• Usage and Device Information: IP address, device and browser type, operating system, pages viewed, referring URLs, approximate location, and actions you take in the Service.
• Cookies and Similar Technologies: we and our providers use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies for authentication, preferences, analytics, and security.
• Analytics Providers: we use third‑party analytics providers to collect usage and event data to understand how the Service is used and to improve it. These providers may set cookies or collect device and usage data as described below.

3) How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Service and its features
• Create and manage your account, galleries, and sharing permissions
• Process subscriptions and payments via our payment processor
• Send transactional messages (e.g., receipts, technical notices, support responses)
• Personalize content and user experience
• Monitor usage, detect, prevent, and address security incidents and abuse
• Analyze performance and product usage via analytics providers
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms
• Communicate about updates, features, and offers where permitted

4) Public vs. Private Galleries

Public galleries can appear on your public profile. Unlisted galleries do not appear there, but anyone with their link can open them. Private galleries require sign-in and a verified email address that the gallery owner has allowed. The owner can remove viewers to stop future access. Access controls cannot recall copies that someone has already downloaded, saved or screenshotted. Private galleries are not end-to-end encrypted: the Service processes photos to generate and display gallery images.

AI features and connected AI clients

When AI photo analysis runs, photos and sampled video frames are sent to third-party AI providers to generate descriptions and other analysis used to organize galleries. The Service also uses available photo metadata, including capture time and location, for organization. Video audio is not analyzed. Analysis results are stored with your library; raw analysis and location metadata are not added to your published gallery by the organizer.

If you connect an external AI client through MCP, you authorize the permissions shown during sign-in. Depending on those permissions, the client can access your galleries, original photos, videos, metadata and saved analysis, including private content. It may also edit, publish, change access or delete content when you grant those permissions. Data received by that client is handled under its provider’s terms and privacy policy. Review those terms before connecting a client.

You can revoke a connection under Account → Connected apps. Revocation stops future access through that connection; it does not delete information the provider already received or undo changes already made.

Free image tools

The metadata remover processes selected files locally in your browser. Those files and their metadata are not uploaded. Usage analytics record general tool activity, not file names, photo contents or GPS coordinates. The metadata extractor, image optimizer and format converter upload files to our server for processing. Generated output files are stored until deleted; they do not have an automatic deletion deadline. Each tool identifies where processing happens before you select a file.

5) Cookies and Similar Technologies

We and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, perform analytics, and enhance security. You can control cookies through your browser settings and, where applicable, through in‑product settings. Disabling certain cookies may impact functionality.

6) Analytics

We use third‑party analytics providers to understand how users interact with the Service and to help us improve performance and usability. These providers may collect device information, approximate location, pages viewed, feature usage, and event data and may set cookies or similar technologies to recognize your browser or device. We do not sell personal information to analytics providers. For more details, see the privacy documentation of our analytics provider(s). Where required, we will obtain your consent before enabling analytics cookies.

7) Information Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share information in the following circumstances:

• Vendors and Service Providers: including hosting, storage, content processing, analytics providers, and payment processing, to operate the Service.
• Legal, Safety, and Security: to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, or protect the rights, property, or safety of Simple Photo Gallery, our users, or the public.
• Business Transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
• With Your Consent: when you direct us to share information or make Content public.

8) Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information, subject to certain exceptions (e.g., legal requirements, security, fraud prevention).

9) Security

We implement technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use strong passwords and keep your account credentials confidential.

10) Your Privacy Choices and Rights

You may access, update, or delete certain account information via your account settings, and you may request additional access or deletion by contacting support. You may also manage email preferences and cookie settings. Depending on your location, you may have rights under applicable law (e.g., access, correction, deletion, portability, objection/opt‑out, and restriction). We will honor these rights as required by law.

11) International Transfers

We may transfer, store, and process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we will implement appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

12) Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

13) Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated Policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice as required by law.
