Connect an AI client: Organize your galleries from the AI assistant you already use.

Connect Simple Photo Gallery to ChatGPT, Claude or another MCP client. Ask it to sort a trip, pick covers or tidy a gallery. It can edit your drafts and, with your permission, publish them. You choose the access you grant when connecting.

Which clients work

Any AI client that can add a remote MCP server.

Connector features depend on the client and on your plan with it. Your AI client’s own subscription and limits apply.

Current setup guides: ChatGPT custom MCP apps · Claude custom connectors.

ChatGPT

Directory app coming soon

A Simple Photo Gallery app for the ChatGPT directory is in preparation. Where your ChatGPT plan lets you add a custom MCP connector, you can use the manual setup below in the meantime.

Claude

Manual setup

Add Simple Photo Gallery as a custom connector using the server address below, where your Claude plan supports remote MCP connectors.

Other MCP clients

Manual setup

Any client that can add a remote MCP server over HTTP with OAuth sign-in. Clients that support MCP Apps also show an interactive gallery workspace.

Manual setup

Set it up in four steps.

  1. 01

    Add a remote MCP server

Open your AI client’s settings for connectors or MCP servers and add a new remote server. Menu names vary between clients and change over time; check your client’s current help pages.

  2. 02

    Paste the server address

Use the address above. If the client asks for an authentication type, choose OAuth. You don’t need an API key.

  3. 03

    Sign in and review permissions

A Simple Photo Gallery sign-in window opens. Check the permissions your client is asking for before you allow access.

  4. 04

    Ask for your galleries

Start with “Show my galleries.” Your client lists them and can open a draft to work on.

Try asking

Tell your assistant what you want to make.

Your AI client does the reasoning. Simple Photo Gallery provides your galleries, photo details and saved analysis, and saves the edits to your draft.

  • Show my galleries and open the Japan trip.
  • Group these photos into sections by location. Show me the proposal first.
  • Suggest a title for each section and a cover photo for the gallery.
  • Hide the selected photos, keeping the originals in my library.
  • Restore the previous layout of my Australia gallery.
  • Publish the gallery once I confirm.

What it won’t do

  • It doesn’t retouch photos, remove objects or generate images.
  • It doesn’t post to social networks or control a camera.
  • Video analysis uses sampled frames. Audio isn’t transcribed or analyzed.
  • Publishing and permanent deletion require the corresponding permissions. Grant only the access you need.

What it costs

Simple Photo Gallery doesn’t charge for the connection. The conversation runs on your AI client under its own subscription and usage limits. When your client asks Simple Photo Gallery to analyze photos that have no analysis yet, that uses your plan’s monthly AI photo allowance, the same one the gallery editor uses. Simple Photo Gallery photo analysis is in early access for selected accounts, including requests made through MCP. Connecting a client does not unlock it. Storage follows your plan.

Permissions and data

You see what your client asks for before you allow it.

The sign-in screen lists the permissions your client requests. These are the permissions Simple Photo Gallery offers:

Permissions an AI client can request
PermissionWhat it allows
See your galleriesList galleries and read drafts, sections and captions.
Edit draftsCreate galleries, arrange sections, edit captions, hide photos.
PublishPublish a gallery draft. Grant this only if you want your client to publish.
Change who can viewSet public, unlisted or private access and edit the viewer list.
See your photo libraryRead photos, videos, metadata (including location) and saved analysis.
Upload photosAdd photos and files you attach in the conversation.
Delete originalsPermanently delete photos from your library. Separate from hiding.
Run photo analysisAnalyze photos that have no analysis yet, using your AI allowance.

What your AI client can see

With the corresponding permissions, your client can receive original photos, captions, location metadata and saved analysis when it requests them, including from private galleries. That data is then handled under your AI provider’s terms. Grant access only to AI clients you trust with your photo library.

Draft edits and publishing are separate

Edits are saved to a draft. If you edit the same gallery in the browser at the same time, your client is told to reload instead of overwriting your changes. A client with publishing permission can make a draft live. Hiding a photo, removing it from one gallery and deleting the original are separate actions.

Disconnect and support

Revoke access at any time.

Disconnect a client in Account → Connected apps. Its access ends; your galleries stay as they are. Data the client already received stays with that client.

The connection expired
Reconnect from your AI client and sign in again.
An edit conflicts with a newer version
Ask your client to reload the gallery and review the latest draft.
An upload failed
Retry the file, or start a new upload.
Something else
Email [email protected] with what you asked for and roughly when. Never send passwords or access tokens.
